Back to Raspberry PI web page

A web page to gather the hardware required to run a Raspberry PI :

- For a normal use,

- For the setup.

Hardware for the simplest usage

For the simplest usage, you need :

- The Raspberry PI board (here a Raspberry B model),

- A power supply with a micro USB connector (here a 1 A bloc, sufficient for a basic use, more is needed for newer models),

- A SD card (here a micro SD card with an adaptor), 32 Go is necessary for Bookworm with a full desktop (leaving about 15 Go free space),

- A Ethernet wire (or a WiFi key for the 1 and 2 models).

Case

Non absolutely required but recommended, a small plastic case to protect the Raspberry from dust while keeping an easy acces to the connectors... except the GPIO one !

Two other boxes for a Raspberry 2, the left one dedicated for experiments, the right one including a housing for the camera.

A metalic case for a Raspberry 4 with passive heating. My data server is hosted on that one.

For the setup, you will need to connect a screen to the Raspberry PI. The simplest is to use an HDMI wire and to connect to a TV set. As a result, you have a full HD display !

For the setup, you will also need a keyboard and a mouse. I have used an old keyboard and old mouse from a PC with an USB->PS2 adaptor but every keyboard/mouse should work.

On the picture, a Rii wireless small keyboard/touchpad that I have bought afterwards.

An other keyboard/mouse

A more classical keyboard and mouse for a more intensive use.

Bought less than 10 € in a super market.
